Current research topics: the African Business Environment and Entrepreneurship; China and Chinese people in Africa; Food Security and Food Sovereignty in Africa, Women and Land, International Land Grabs

Countries/Regional Areas of Expertise:

Research and fieldwork in Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Jamaica, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Senegal, Somalia, St. Lucia, Senegal, South Africa, Swaziland, Uganda, and Zambia. Development projects designed, implemented, and evaluated in Botswana, Cameroon, Eritrea, Ethiopia, India, Kenya, Malawi, Somalia, Swaziland, Thailand, and Zimbabwe. Training and workshops in Barbados, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Netherlands, St. Lucia, & U.S.
