The University of Florida's Center for African Studies announces the 26th consecutive year of its Research Affiliate Program for college and university faculty. The program enables African specialists at institutions without adequate resources for African-related research to increase their expertise on Africa through contact with other Africanists on campus and by using the African-related resources of the University of Florida libraries. The Outreach Program of the Center for African Studies administers the program with funding provided by the U.S. Department of Education Title VI National Resource Center grant.
Two one-month appointments--each with an allowance of $2,500--will be available for the summer of 2007. Recipients of the awards will present a seminar paper on the research conducted during their stay. Affiliates may begin their appointments any time after receipt of the award but must complete their visit by August 10, 2007.
